On friday 27th Feb 2014, Brand Woman Africa(BWA) and AWDF unveiled their support towards Women Development in Africa. This is by hosting The International Women’s Day celebration at Alliance Française in Accra, Ghana. The event will be featuring paintings, photography, installations and illustrations by artists like Kis Keya, Sena Ahadji and Zohra Opoku. In a good atmosphere, all invitees and reporters convey their opinions to grace the occasion.Head of Organizations present were Anita Erskine-Amaizo (Founder, BrandWoman Africa), Theo Sowa (CEO of African Women’s Development Fund) and Patrice Gilles (Alliance Française Director). Activities lineup prior to the Celebrations includes the schedule:
- 7th March @ 6:00am: Exhibition launch (Featuring paintings, photography, installations and illustrations by visual arts Kis Kenya, Sena Ahadji and Zohra Opoku). At 7pm: ‘Meet the writers’ (Thought provoking conversations and book readings), and at 8pm: The Afro Soul Concert (Concert showcasing a tribute to iconic musician and activist Nina Simone)
Today International Women’s Day is still an occasion to acknowledge women development standards in Africa and the World.
